Stage Works Summer Camp

Spotlight on the Next Generation.

The Stageworks Summer Theatre Camp is a signature program of the Douglass Theatre, designed for youth ages 7 to 14. Campers explore acting, dance, music, literacy, team building, budgeting, lighting and set design, stage management, and script development. In addition to this creative enrichment, the program emphasizes personal growth through activities focused on social etiquette, volunteerism, networking, anti-bullying strategies, and character development—empowering students to thrive on stage and in life. Our next summer camp will be held in June and July of 2026.

HBCU Art Series

The Stage for HBCU Expression.

The HBCU Arts Series is a signature initiative of the Douglass Theatre that celebrates the creative excellence of students and alumni from Historically Black Colleges and Universities. Guided by a volunteer Advisory Council of HBCU alumni and students, the series features quarterly performances, visual arts exhibitions, and year-round community events that spotlight HBCU talent while raising awareness about their cultural and educational impact. It also supports the next generation by awarding scholarships to graduating high school seniors in Central Georgia who are headed to HBCUs.
